The Westside of Atlanta has been through a huge transition shift in the last 5 years. We not only believe in helping people find a home that they will love but we also believe in connecting people to the community. That’s why Erika Brown & Associates along with Urban West Atl will host monthly Community Conversations at various locations on the Westside.
While living on the Westside we have experienced first hand what happens when people get together from different backgrounds and cultures. We hope that our conversations will help connect people together who may not ordinarily cross paths, with hopes of fostering a greater sense of community with one another.
Below you’ll find information for our upcoming conversations + overviews of past events
Upcoming Community Conversations
August 21st
topic: Business & entrepreneurship
Time: 11am-12:30pm
Join us to connect and exchange ideas with other Entrepreneurs and Business Owners on the Westside of Atlanta.
We will discuss . . .
- What it looks like to be a conscious business owner in a transitional community
- As we look at the changes on the Westside, what types of new businesses will be beneficial to have
- What are some of the grants available for those looking to start businesses
May 23rd @ D’s Cafe
topic: Education
Time: 6-8pm
As we consider all the growth and changes taking place on the Westside, one of the biggest issues on a lot of our minds, especially parents, is the Education System. Join us at our next Community Conversation as we discuss how the Education System affects us all and how we can participate in the advancement of our schools. Plus, we’ll spend time sharing the different Education options available on the Westside and share tips on choosing the best option for you and your family.

Attendees of our first Community Conversation on Gentrification
April 25th @Cultured south
Topic: Gentrification
We had our very first Community Conversation last month and it was simply amazing! We witnessed neighbors come together and talk, listen, agree and also disagree with one another in a graceful way. Gentrification is a complex topic that evokes a variety of emotions and opinions so we were grateful to be able to discuss it in a way that was helpful and promoted an exchanging of ideas, viewpoints, and tangible takeaways.
One of the biggest wins of our time together was that everyone in attendance met someone that they did not know. This accomplished one of our purposes for even having Community Conversations - to help connect people together who may not ordinarily cross paths, with hopes of fostering a greater sense of community with one another.
